Diane Dimbleby is back with another fast paced mystery & murder to solve. This book is my favourite in the series so far and I loved the descriptions of the village fete & baking contest. Looking forward to the next adventure…. helenwho
There are enough red herrings to keep you guessing as to the murders identity until the end, but the conclusion is logical. So unlike some mysteries where the murder is impossible to solve as a reader on the information provided, this does make sense & so is feasible result. Changling69
Another wonderful story by Penelope Sotheby. catwoman1a

Once again I was totally engrossed in the newest Diane Dimbleby story. Murder in the Village combined interesting characters, plot twists, amusing interactions as Ms. Dimbleby delves into a murder close to home. This book was entertaining and enjoyable and even if you haven’t read previous books in the Diane Dimblely series you’ll have no trouble understanding and following along. Ms. Sotheby has a way of making the reader feel like you know the characters, their quirks and tendencies. And she does a great job of keeping you wondering who the committed the murder. Each entry in this series is an outstanding example of the quintessential English mystery. Ms. Sotheby manages to maintain the plot while retaining the feel of a sleepy little village. Diane is a wonderful character and all the people in it are quirky and memorable and provide delightful light-hearted humor. The author also managed a few surprises because I didn’t have an inkling of whodunit. DTChantel
